Should you be surprised when you hear this term (literally translated: the dripping bath) – so don't worry, we find it awkward, too. But let’s take it slowly. In our Séparée Suite, there is an extraordinary, so-to-say, “recreation room” with a very special esprit. Open bathtub pleasures can be enjoyed in a right royal, generous bathing pool. It is so inviting that you will want to dedicate yourself to very special rituals. We were almost tempted to call it the Hollmann Hamam, but for legal reasons (yes, of course, we are an honourable house that stands at attention before the Vienna bureaucracy), we now prefer to call it “Tröpferlbad”: (a) because it sounds so cute, (b) because we are upright hosts, and (c) because the Tröpferlbad is an old Viennese tradition. It goes back to times when only a very modest proportion of the Viennese population could devote themselves to comprehensive body hygiene. And so, at the end of the 19th century, special places were created in the attics of the so-called people’s baths. Now you know the (hi-)story, too. Have fun.
