Three huts – traditional granaries reinterpreted, sleek and slender, inserted into the forest. Fascinating details surprising at every step, every glance. Conceived, devised and realized by Robert Hollmann, once a prominent stage actor and confectioner, now a tourism free spirit and out-of-the-box thinker for whom hotels are an atrocity. And here? A village square with fountain and firepit for a cozy sit-down. Fun times close to the hut flow seamlessly into active holidaymaking that extends out to the horizon: pistes, cross-country trails, hiking paths beginning outside the front door. All is good, as long as we remain untamed and unchained.

This plateau of alpine tarns at 1800 m above sea level, between Carinthia and Styria, is a particularly beautiful corner of the world. Three colorful lakes, a hiking paradise of gentle alpine pastures, imposing summits and pine forests, mountain- and E-bike trails in summer, while 42 km of family ski slopes, a snow- and funpark for freestylers, ice skating on the Turracher See, 15 km of XC trails, sledding hills, winter hiking paths and ski tours prevent even a hint of boredom in wintertime as well. Its climate also makes the Turracher Höhe something special: snowy in winter and pollen-free in summer.
