Silence, tranquility,
Ayurveda in Sri Lanka
Rings under the eyes, sitting in an office all day long, your appointment calendar constantly full, bad sleep, headaches, everything hectic and stressful.
Who doesn’t know what that’s like? Actually, regular guests of the UTMT Ayurveda hotel in Sri Lanka don’t!
Ayurveda – the “knowledge of life” – looks back on 5000 years of experience and tradition. Scientifically researched and taught in India today. The harmony of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects is vital to the overall good health. This holistic treatment method looks at the person as a whole and doesn’t become overly obsessed with isolated issues.

Ayurveda is a method that places the focus on the person, not the disease. UTMT offers you facilities and professional guidance true to the traditional teachings of Ayurveda. With the help of our professional Ayurveda physicians, the treatments are custom-tailored to you as an individual.
Central elements of Ayurveda include Ayurveda massages, nutrition, spiritual yoga exercises, meditation and herbal medicine.
In addition to several treatment rooms, the spa area also features relaxation zones, while the 25 m swimming pool invites you to cool off or enjoy a good workout during your health-focused holiday.
We will take personal care of you.
The Ayurveda programs at UTMT are guided and professionally overseen by Ayurveda doctors. We couldn’t be further removed from dogmatic thinking; Our guests are able to experience Ayurveda tailored perfectly to their individual needs.
The precise treatments are planned in direct consultation with our doctors. The framework for these is provided by the various packages which you can book and which determine the actual scope of treatments.
Ayurveda Pure is a program intended to last three days or longer, offering you four treatment sessions daily.
Ayurveda Intense: Panchakarma is a unique Ayurveda cleansing program offered at UTMT. It focuses on your personal constitution and involves evaluation of the “three Doshas” by our physicians. This particular program under the guidance of doctors lasts at least 10 days. With 4 to 6 targeted treatments daily, your body is cleansed and detoxified completely.
DoshasThe harmony of life energies
The harmony of life energies
Ayurveda describes three different life energies, the so-called Doshas: * Vata (wind, air and ether) involves movement. * Pitta (fire and water) addresses a person’s fiery nature and metabolism. * Kapha (earth and water) is the structural principle.
“Dosha” literally means “fault” (potential). Doshas are present in every organism though in different constellations. A healthy person has a harmonious balance of all three.
That said, Ayurveda involves evaluating the presence and interaction between those three Doshas. With that diagnosis complete, the Ayurveda doctor develops a holistic therapy program tailored to the person’s precise needs. Nutrition will also be adapted according to the Dosha analysis. The benefits of an Ayurveda program reach fullest effect in a harmonious setting, such as the one we are proud to offer here at UTMT.
