How can I book?

The easiest way to book with us is direct on on our website. You will receive an immediate booking confirmation. You can also book by email at reservations@utmthotel.com or per phone +43 5 7778 300 direct in our European sales office.

Are there any special offers or packages?

Why should I always book withyou directly?

What is our cancellation policy?

Cancellations - prior to 60 days of arrival are free of charge, the deposit of 30% will be refunded - within 30 days of arrival, the deposit of 30% of the total cost of stay - within 14 days of arrival, the deposit of 60% of the total cost of stay - within 72 hours of arrival, the deposit of 80% of the total cost of stay will be charged - if cancelled later or in case of no show the total price of the reservation will be charged - early depature is considered as a cancellation Prepaiment: - 100% of the total amount will be charged on the day of booking Cancellations must be made in written by email reservations@utmthotel.com

Before your stay

Are there direct flights?

Direct flights are out of Rome and London Heathrow with Sri Lankas Airlines. Alternative flights with a stop in Dubai, Doha, Istanbul or Abu Dhabi are available from almost all major airports. Average flight time is between 10-14 hours.

Are flights included in the price?

Flights are not included in the price, but we are happy to assist you with the booking.

Which vaccinations are required?

Please inform yourself in time (at least 1 month before arrival) of any required vaccination. According to travel information vaccinations are not necessarily needed. Recommended standard vaccinations are hepatitis A and B, diphtheria, tetanus, polio, typhoid, and sometimes for longer stays Japanese encephalitis, rabies and Meningokokken

Do I need a visa?

Yes! Please check the visa requirements prior to arrival. Find information from the singhalese authorities. http://www.eta.gov.lk. Srilankavisa.org provides professional consular service to Sri Lanka, it has 24x7 custom support, and each application is checked manually. It charges additional service fee on top of the government fee.

Arrival

How to get from the airport to the hotel?

Part of a carefree holiday is also a pleasant journey. We can arrange your private transfer in an air-conditioned car with private driver from the Colombo (Bandaranaike) airport directly to UTMT and return. Single way: € 124/USD 130 per car with 2 seats €130/USD 140 per Van with up to 4 seats and € 140/USD 150 per Minibus up to 8 seats incl. Cool box with water, snacks and cool towels, pillows and blankets. You can easily book your transfer with your room online.For the particularly adventurous, there is also the possibility of an air taxi from Colombo to Dickwella. How long is the trip from the airport to the hotel?

Depending on the traffic situation driving time is estimated between 2 and 3,5 hours.

Living

Is there a breakfast-only option?

All our prices are including half board with breakfast and dinner. If, however, you intend to have dinner somewhere else on one day, please let us know the day before.

What does Ocean view mean?

You will see the Indian Ocean either from your room or your terrace. Rooms without ocean view will face a beautiful lush and green garden.

What size are the children and extra beds?

For small children, cots can be provided. For children up to 7 years extra beds can be provided. Attention: extra beds have a length of max. 150 cm! Children rates for stay in parent's room: 0-5y for free, 6-15 years chargeable.

Are there connecting rooms?

For families we recommend our suite or our doubleroom villas (4 adults and 1-2 children) or our grand villa (6 adults and 2-3 children ) or 2 rooms situated right next to each other.

Can you change money at the hotel?

Currency exchange is available at the front desk.

Is there a laundry service?

We will gladly take care of your laundry on site.( to be payed)

What about internet?

On site there is free Wi-Fi. The reception will Hand over the password at arrival. We also offer free iPads for the length at your stay.

What is the nature of the beach?

The site has its own sandy beach. Sri Lanka is known for its beauftiful waves and pure clean waters. However, due to waves and distinct tides, our beach is not recommended for non-swimmers.

When can I check in?

Our check in time starts at 3pm. Your room might be available earlier. In case of an early arrival you can leave your luggage with us and of course start your relaxing holiday right away. A booked early check-in is to be payed.

Till when do I have to leave the room on day of departure?

We kindly ask you to leave the room on departure until 12am. A late checkout is subject to availability, but cannot be guaranteed and it is not free of charge. A luggage storage room and space to freshen up are available, so you can also enjoy the last day of your stay.

What about medical care?

As part of our Ayurveda Clinic, we can support you with Ayurvedic treatments. Our doctors (trained in Ayurvedic medicine) are gladly available with help and advice. The Bathigama District Hospital is just 850 meters away. However, the medical care in rural areas is not comparable with European standards. For more severe injuries and diseases, there is good supply in Colombo. Please inform yourself prior to arrival about travel and medical insurance.

Eat and Drink

Do you also provide lactose ,gluten -free, vegetarian and vegan meals?

We are happy to serve your nutritional needs. Please let us know about any special diet in advance. You also can book every Ayurveda package with vegetarian or vegan food.

Is there drinking water?

The tap water is not suitable for drinking. However, we provide free drinking water in a jug in your room or you can take it yourself from the fountain at the main square. In the Restaurant drinking water is served at any meal.

All Ayurvedic treatments and also SPA Treatments are also bookable on site (subject to availability).

Activities

What sports are offered?

There is a beach volleyball area and water sports equipment. Yoga classes are offered as well. Surfing can be learned at nearby schools. Bicycles can be rent for free.

Sri Lanka

Which attractions can be found nearby?

Sri Lanka is rich in attractions and cultural diver. Nearby you can visit temples or markets, an old kolonial town- Galle, National Parks and the Blow Hole. All exkursions can be booked at our reception.

Which types of mobility are available in Sri Lanka?

We recommend to use a cab or a private driver. Generally there is also a train system, and a pretty good bus network is available. The Tuk Tuk, as it is well known also from other Asian countries, is also found in Sri Lanka. Just do not let yourself be cheated in the price negotiation.

Is Sri Lanka also suitable for a family vacation?

The UTMT offers a great deal for families. In Sri Lanka, there is plenty to explore and experience for the whole family.

What is the currency in Sri Lanka?

Sri Lanka Rupee (LKR). Monet Exchange can be done at the reception.

What is check out time?

We kindly ask you to leave your room until 12am. Late check/out can be granted upon availability but is not free of charge. A storage room, lockers and changing rooms are at your disposal, in order to make use of the resort until the last minute of your stay.
